Cameroon rectified the Maputo protocol. Cameroon is a monist state, which means that international laws and treaties are immediately incorporated into national law and that any national law (Penal Code) that contradicts international law or treaties (Maputo Protocol) is null and void. In cases of sexual assault, rape, incest, and when the pregnancy endangers the woman’s life or physical or mental health, or in cases of certain fetal diagnoses.

Besides, a protocol of the taken decision will be sent by registered mail to the chairperson of the National Council of Medical Practitioners
